Quote: My friend and I stayed here to enjoy Spring break. We were disappointed on many levels. First, you are not allowed to bring non-hotel guests back with you (i.e. if you meet a girl at a club and want to take her back to your room, forget about it). Second, although it was all-inclusive, the food and drinks really sucked. I ended up only eating rice and tomatoes and eating out the rest of the time. Drinks were watered down and impossible to get unless you gave a $* tip to one of the few waiters. Third, the bathroom was terrible. It smelled bad and didn't have any tissues. We had to go to the front desk to get extra towels. Last, but definitely not least, the cleaning lady broke our door. My friend and I were hanging out on the... Read More
Quote: Boy oh Boy..Wish I would have taken the advise of previous travelers staying at this brothel.. I mean hotel. Screaming in hall ways from 1am to 6am EVERY NIGHT. This is the hotel used for local teenagers wanting to get as drunk as possible and raise a little hell. Now mind you, we have all been there at some point but probably not with our families. I thought it was just like that during spring break but our waiter advised us this was the norm for this hotel. We went July 1-6th. He said the GRAND Oasis was for families and suggested we try to move over there. If you have children or are looking for a relaxing place to stay I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere. If you are trapped into staying at the Oasis bring lots and lots of... Read More
Quote: This place was awful! The room flooded and the bedspreads were mildewed. They promise several restaurants but there are maybe three and the sushi restaurant limits the servings. There is one bar and it's full of young kids. It takes forever to get a drink. We asked them to move us (Apple Vacations), no luck. The main lobby is full of sprng breakers yelling and screaming at all hours. There are NO activities. This is a very old property, run down and nasty. You get no washcloths and only two towels. Use them to wipe the floors.Do not stay here!
Quote: Ok so i was there march 25 to april 1 and it was great ! .......I had stayed 2 other previous times at the oasis but that was in 2003 and 2006 and after all the negative reviews i was kinda scared to go there this year.... Yes this is a party hotel with lots of younger people my wife and I are 27 and we had a blast. As far as the bars go , well they were great to me i got 2 drinks sometimes even when I only asked for 1 and they gave us shots with no problems also I would order a rum and coke , it was more like rum with a splash of coke...lol......but we do tip a cpl bucks here and there and they rember you. The food was real good and plenty to choose from and once again if you give the waiter a cpl buck he will never stop bringing you... Read More
Quote: DO NOT believe all the negative reviews people have written about this hotel! We had a wonderful vecation and it was way nicer than we expected after reading all the bad reviews. The hotel service was great, everyone was friendly, the rooms were nice and clean, and we always got fresh towels when we needed them. There was rarely a wait for food though there were lines at the bars. NOTE: If you want the bartenders to give you two drinks at a time... just tip them! It works like a charm!! My only complaint with this hotel was we wanted two queen sized beds but we were given one king and they would not negotiate with us! :( If you are interested in having a nice, quiet, relaxing vacation, this is NOT the place. It's a younger,... Read More
Quote: This place is a joke. I am 26 years old, which in my opinion is not old, but I do not want to see 18 year olds being hauled away in wheel chairs from being too drunk to function. They say this place is all inclusive. Well I personally did NOT appreciate waiting in line for an hour for each meal, and they get you on the alcohol. NO shots and only 1 bartender at each bar. Which leads to waiting in very long lines. The pool closes at 5, and so do the bars out there. They quit serving alcohol completely at midnight. The place smells like a septic tank. Our shower filled up with YELLOW water and wouldnt go down. NO ONEEE speaks english. I called to get the tub fixced and i was transferred 6 times only to find out they thought i was trying to... Quote: this hotel is for college students and those who wants to have fun if you have children i suggest that you bring them to another resort maybe somewhere outside of Cancun because it is is party haven. I loved the entertainment at the resort it was fun the people that I was with was complaining so we got upgraded to the grand oasis. The Grand oasis was a really really nice resort but the food is crap and its not as exictina as Oasis Cancun. but since they were both apart of the same chain we still had acess to Oasis Cancun and got to eat at the exclusive resturants like the steak house.
Quote: We got a little scared reading the other reviews before we left on our trip. We were two girls, I'm 27 and my friend is 25. We were there February 26th through March 2nd. We had the BEST five days of our lives! It is true that you can not check in until 3 pm, but they will give you your bracelet that allow you to eat and drink as soon as you get there, and the bell boy will watch your bags. Ours were unattended for about 5 hours and were absolutely FINE. The only complaint we had was they gave us a room with only one bed, but SO WHAT. You are hardly ever in the room. The food was good. There is a Brazilian Steakhouse that is out of this world, and the Asian/Thai place right on the beach is AMAZING. The buffet is even edible. We... Read More
Quote: my wife and I recently spent a few days at the grand oasis and were really impressed. the food was outstanding, service great and the condition of the resort was beautiful. the only thing that we were not happy with was the high pressure sales talk to purchase the vacation club plan. Quote: Worst travel experience ever! Waited in line for almost 45 minutes to check in, had to walk way too far to get to our room, which smelled like backed-up sewer and actually had crumbs on the bed! Walked the whole way back to the desk where they "helpfully" offered to "clean" the room. After insisting on a change, they "found" an open room in the main building. Slightly cleaner and no odor. Amazingly, the door actually took a key, which they had to replace twice before it would actually open the door! Finally, this resort has a well-earned reputation as a party place for the spring-break crowd and was crawling with partying young people. No problem, except it's so noisy all night long, and at 5am when the... Read More
