Best Way To Get Around:

The hotel is in Savannah about a 10 minutes drive straight up Abercorn Street to Historical Savannah and Riverfront. Lots of stores and restaurants nearby including a Mall, Wal-mart, Publix Supermarket (since you have a kitchen you can cook your own food if you want) & K-mart.

I had a King non-smoking room which was clean and comfortable. I definitely would recommend this hotel which is owned by the Hilton so you know its definitely nice.

They feature only broiled or steamed seafood and offer a sampler Platter for two for $35 which is more than enough for two people. It has King Crab legs, Dungeoness Crab Claws, Steamed shrimp, Mussels, Crawfish, potatoes, Extra Sweet Corn on the Cob and sausages. The seafood was the best flavored I have had in a long time. The have other steamed dishes available but the sampler platter is their most popular - the same sampler for one is $22.

The waitstaff are very friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend this restaurant for those who want to feel free to get your hands dirty as you eat some really good seafood and drink some excellent beer. Its perfect after a long day at the beach.

The restaurant is small but with two floors and a bar area on the first floor. The second floor is much more private and dark. Has a dimly lit sitting area for enjoying drinks.

The appetizers range from $8 - $12 (their famous Lump Crab & Lobster cakes w/ corn relish). It's excellent. They also have a superb vegatable plate seasoned so well that you forget to ask for butter. The food is displayed so beautifully that you don't want to eat it. They have an excellent wine menu and the bar makes great Martinis.

Finally, they have some really exciting deserts that are so rich and yummy that you must get one to share at least.

I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are staying on the river and you are tired of the rowdyness of the riverfront restaurants. This restaurant is an elegant change from the normal restaurants on the river and its nice to have a beautiful restaurant to dress up for, especially if you are enjoying a romantic weekend away from home.

The sand is very fine and powderlike and there is no real trash on this public beach. It's very clean.

Glass bottles are not allowed on the beach nor is public drinkins so if you have cans of beer they must be in a cozy so as to not show what you are drinking. If you bring bottles with you, I suggest you also bring cups so that when the police come by you won't be ticketed.

The best thing is this beach is open 24 hours a day so you may enjoy an evening on the beach as well. They also have swinging benches for you to enjoy with your spouse.

Finally, its close enough to Savannah (18 miles away) that you don't have to stay in Tybee. They do have a lot of places you can rent which start at $139 a night depending on where you stay. However, I recommend staying in Savannah because you have more options of things to do other than the beach.

I would not recommend wasting your time with this sight.

Personally, it was a bit corny for me as I was hoping to actually be frightened during the storytelling as I envisioned being at least on the stairs of the homes if not entering them. Also you go to visit the cemetery but you don't enter and the tour guides just tell you stories of who is buried in there from outside the gate. Again, it would have been better if we could go inside the cemetery and see the plots of the souls he spoke of.

Now they do have a tour called the "Creepy Crawly" which is a ghost walk tour but its of pubs and you get a free drink at the first pub which you can take with you along on the walk. You can, of course, buy drinks at each of the pubs you visit which would make for a great tour when it was all done. This tour is $15.

I suggest you visit the Savannah Visitors Bureau where you can get coupons for up to $2 off the cost of these tours.

It is probably better not to park in the main parking lot at the beach as that part of the beach is the most populated. If you drive down a few blocks, and every block has an entrance bridge to the beach, you can find a really nice spot on the beach. These streets all have parking meters so you can park on any of these residential streets and walk right onto the beach.

The parking pass is also great when bar hopping in Tybee as I have already mentioned all streets are paved with parking meters.

The pass does not expire until 12 noon the next day.
