Great Pizza Overshadowed by Bugs

Quote: The pizza is fantastic. Even though the amount of cheese used makes it a heart attack waiting to happen, it tastes delicious. The service was great as well despite the somewhat lengthy wait. However, as we were about to leave, the pleasant experience was ruined by a big fat cockroach crawling on the wall behind us. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

The Best Pizza You Will Ever Eat in This Country!

Quote: This is one of the best places in Chicago for pizza. There are several locations around the city. The one we went to is just a block away from the shops on Michigan Avenue. It is a great place to get some great tasting pizza before and/or after a day of shopping. The wait for a table can often be at least 30 minutes. Best thing is, though, that you order your pizza when you put your name on the list for being seated. This way the pizza is ready not too long after you are seated even on the busiest of days. The pizza tastes great and one slice is filling enough for most, but we always get more than we will eat so we can take it home and eat as leftovers. The service is overall good, but we did have an annoying issue related to my... Read More

Quote: It was a good place to eat pizza. They have stuffed pizza, and it was my first time trying it. It was pretty good. They serve all different kinds of pizza. So if you like pizza, this is a good place to go to.

Quote: Giordano's is the epitome of great Chicago pizza! Be sure to go hungry, because the pizza is thick. We ordered a pizza for two (six slices), and took two of the slices back to the hotel. It takes 20 to 30 minutes for the pizza to be prepared, but it's well worth the wait.

Quote: Very nice, casual atmosphere. Good pizza pies. We had an 1 1/2-hour wait to eat, though. As soon as you get there, they will take your order before you even get seated because it takes so long to make the pizzas. Then you are seated after about 1 1/2 hours, and they bring the pizza out about 20 minutes later. Long time waiting but definitely worth it. Good pizza. Would suggest not going on the weekend.

Quote: This Chicago favorite, popping up in multiple locations all over town, was a quick stop for us after visiting the Sears Tower and a long day of shopping. We had great Italian food for not a lot of money, and even took leftovers back to our hotel! The only downside was that it took a long time for our food to be cooked, because one of us ordered a deep-dish pizza, which takes extra long. So, while the food was good and it was a little piece of Chicago history, it could have been better.

Quote: It's lunchtime on a Monday in Chicago. Where else to go but to try the Famous Stuffed pizza at Giordano's? And when they say stuffed, they aren't kidding! Giordano's is not your everyday fast-food pizza joint. That's evident when the menu cautions that it will take about 30 to 45 minutes for your pizza. And the waiter reiterates that fact when she arrives. We are committed to waiting, so we order soft drinks and dive into the menu. We look over the menu and see the tempting sandwiches -- selections include a meatball sandwich or chicken parmesan with marinara and pasta, with everything from spaghetti to eggplant parmesan -- but we're there for the pizza. Thin crust or stuffed? Definitely the stuffed with sausage, pepperoni,... Read More

Quote: A trip to Chicago is never complete without a trip to GIORDANO'S pizza. A few days before my trip, I start to crave this stuff--it's that good! If you have never had Chicago deep-dish pizza, you are in for a treat. The deep-dish pizzas are about 3 inches deep and stuffed with the goodies of your choice. The cheese is in the inside of the pizza, with the sauce on the top. The pizza is so thich that you really can only eat one or two pieces, max--this ain't Pizza Hut pizza, boys and girls! Don't be fooled and order too much. The deep-dish pizzas take about 45 minutes to make, so keep that in mind. What I normally do is order the pizza and put my name down for a table, go for a little walk, and when I get back, the pizza is done and... Read More

Quote: Giordano's is great Italian cooking. If you want to get the most out of your money, try the Chicago-style pizza; it is really filling. If you are familiar with Uno's Pizzeria, that is exactly what you'll get when you order any Chicago-style pizza. The two that I love are well located, one being right near the Sears and the other off of N. Michigan. The environment is like a higher-class version of Pizza Hut to be honest, but it's enjoyable.
