Sightseeing is a popular option in Seoul, and with its many stunning landmarks, it’s not hard to see why. Two of the most popular destinations are the Changegeokgung Palace and Gyeongbokgung Palace, the two grandest of the “Five Grand Palaces” built by kings in the Joseon Dynasty. The National Folk Museum of Korea, housed on the grounds of the Gyeongbokgung Palace, charts the history of the Korean people from pre-history on, while the more recent centuries come alive at the Korean Folk Village, where visitors are immersed in the goings-on of a traditional historic Korean village.

History isn’t the only thing to do in this city of ten million. Shoppers will find plenty of temptation in Seoul, from the more traditional offerings in the shopping district of Insadong, to the opulent shopping mall housed inside the massive COEX Convetion Center. Kids and parents alike will also enjoy the Disneyland-esque offerings at Lotte World, where rides and attractions are divided into different regions of the globe. Close
