  • A perfect stay just a block away! :) (from the strip...)

Quote: Some friends and I traveled to Vegas in the middle of the summer last year. We wanted to stay somewhere that wasn't too crazy but still a blast. We found just the place. Located just a block off the strip, The Desert Rose Resort was an excellent choice! The AC worked great in the rooms. The beds where very comfortable. And the pool temp was just right. We had fun at our young adult age and could see families and other college students also enjoying their stay. The price was right too! The concierge was also very helpful. Some things that could have been better; the ordering system on the television wasn't working right and the suites could have been bigger and better. But I would still recommended this place to others and even go back myself. Thanks also to travelocity for setting the trip up and finding the best prices for air fair.

Quote: Stayed with my two teenagers for 4 days/3 nights. Picked the property because it didn't have a casino or "adult-only" pool, it was reasonably priced, and it offered a free breakfast. As promised, it was a good location, right off the strip and behind the Hooter's resort. Within walking distance of several nice properties, but the side street and parking lot were so dark that we felt unsafe walking at night. The grounds, the lobby, the hallways, the rooms, and the furniture were dirty and also quite dark. To get to the lobby, I had to walk outside the security gate into the dark parking lot and into the lobby through the main entrance. The window and the door in our room didn't close/lock well, so we had to prop a chair against the door. The continental breakfast was awful - large bowls of yogurt and shelled hard-boiled eggs, a few cereals, some white bread for toast, and some frozen fruit. Wouldn't stay again, or recommend for a family stay.

Quote: The lights and noises of Vegas are awesome....for a while. After a long day in the casino or walking up and down the strip, the last thing you want to hear is another noise from a slot machine. During our stay here, it was great to come back to the room and relax without all the fuss of vegas. It was kind of like a vacation from our vacation. The staff was friendly and super helpful, not to mention the free drinks during happy hour were a welcome surprise. Overall, definitely a positive experience.

Quote: Selfishly hate to recommend since its so wonderful and afraid others will "steal" it away! Great place to escape the noise and smoke of the strip hotels/casinos. Nice to come back to at the end of day and/or night! Good breakfast and cocktail hour.
