With several guide references telling us Costa Rica in February is the best time to tour (it’s the dry season, warm and sunny), then reading longtime IgoUgo member nmagann’s trip journal Costa Rica Comeback is timed just right.
Revisiting Costa Rica and starting her journey late in the evening in Liberia, she finds a place to bed down, where a tin roof and an iguana figure into the first night’s stay. This trip has recommendations for a canopy tour and also a horse ride along the slopes of the Arenal Volcano.
Visiting a biological reserve, a green tree frog becomes the focus of a photo and the object of nmagann’s attentions. “After holding him, I went to put him back on the underside of the leaf. Each time I would slide him onto the leaf, he would jump back onto my palm. Guess we were equally fond of each other.”
A challenging trek into the Rincon de la Vieja National Park culminates at a waterfall.
Thanks to this journal, you have a blueprint for a quick, on-the-fly jaunt to Costa Rica.

Welcome back nmagann!
I've never been to Costa Rica, but your journal and photos are definitely inspiring me to add it to my travel wish list!

Oh my goodness, I never saw this section before. I have been away too long. Thanks for the welcome back. Thanks for not laughing at my infatuation (mutual) with that frog. Perhaps he remembers my squealing with delight from 4-5 years back. :)
