Traveler of the Week Shares Tips for Budget Alaska

Alaska proved to be the perfect playground for longtime IgoUgo member Wildcat Dianne: big enough to explore by car, train, and boat; exciting enough to accommodate a jam-packed list of activities; and quirky enough for the plucky traveler to get into some now-expected mischief. Plus, she managed to do most of it in inexpensive (but spectacular) fashion.

Dianne just completed her sixth journal of Alaska reviews and stories--see the entire list here--and, like the others, it’s filled with great tips for visiting the Last Frontier. We especially love this traveler’s knack for locating lesser-known, affordable gems like those on her lists of free things to do in Anchorage and cheap places to pig out.

We can’t wait to see if Wildcat Dianne has more Alaska reviews up her sleeve (or should we say in the armpit?). If so, you can bet they’ll involve more ways to enjoy Alaska’s scenery on a reasonable budget--a beautiful thing, indeed.

I am so happy to be honored as the Igougo Traveler of the Week. I am slowly getting my journals written up so be patient to see what is up my sleeve, or armpit! If you are around me after a day of work in the Garden or Paint departments or after I have walked 4-5 miles, you wouldn't want to be anywhere near my armpits! LOL!

Thanks again for the Traveler of the Week nod, and I am looking forward to writing more about my Alaska experiences.
