Best Things Nearby:
The beach and the bike paths.

Best Things About the Resort:
Tastefully decorated. Discount bike rentals.

Resort Experience:
The third bedroom is really a sitting room off the master bedroom. It's fine for a bedroom, as it has a closet and you can close the door to the master bedroom. Roomy enough for our family of six. In addition to the door to the apartment, there is an outside door downstairs. Unfortunately, our neighbors were not security conscious (or bug conscious) and constantly left the outer doors to the building wide open. The swimming pool was small and the hot tub wasn't hot. Easy walk to the beach and in a nice area. Gas grills available outside for cooking. Management is not on-site, but responded quickly when a problem was reported. Bike paths were excellent for biking or jogging.

Best Things Nearby:
Coral Sands is right across the street from Coligny Plaza. It is also within walking distance to the beach, putt-putt, and some restaraunts. You can also walk to the spotless grocery store nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
Gold Crown resort! The unit size was incredibly huge! It lists as two bedrooms, but it has a "Carolina room" with a TV, dresser, and a pull-out queen sofa bed for a third bedroom... which came in handy for us. The unit can technically sleep up to 10 people comfortably. I loved having a washer/dryer right in my own unit.

Resort Experience:
The unit we stayed at was right by the lagoon and pool. The unit was absolutely spotless and very well maintained. The grounds and pool area were beautiful. We often used the grill area. We had a very minor problem with a screen and a blender - management handled it in a very speedy manner - very impressive. We hardly ever heard our neighbors. It was very quiet there.

Best Things Nearby:
Shopping center with Cold Marble Ice Cream store and the Smokehouse restaurant.

Best Things About the Resort:
Loved the warm weather and warm Atlantic Ocean nearby. Fun bicycling because everything is flat. Alligators all around!

Resort Experience:
Six separate buildings, each with six to eight units on two floors. All units are single level, with large kitchens, two baths, and two or three bedrooms. Furnishings were tasteful and comfortable. All had patios or balconies. Kitchen pantry area was a welcome addition. Air conditioning was a pleasant relief from the outdoor humidity, and was easily adjusted.

There were a couple of shortcomings: the pool was set up the whole time with a volleyball net across it and two basketball hoops. It's really too small a pool to do triple duty as a volleyball area, a basketball area, and a swimming pool. I saw a grandma get hit in the head with a volleyball! There's no kiddie pool. They also had no extra kitchen utensils available to borrow for baking cookies, making pizza, or barbecuing.

The third bedroom is really a sitting room off the master bedroom. It’s fine for a bedroom, as it has a closet and you can close the door to the main bedroom. Best Things Nearby:
Beach, bike paths, nature preserves with alligators, turtles, egrets, and many other birds, and Signe's Heaven Bound Bakery

Best Things About the Resort:
The accommodations, the central location, and the bike rental with discount rates and free delivery and pickup

Resort Experience:
Coral Sands is located near Coligny Circle. We found our three-bedroom, second-floor unit attractive, immaculate, and comfortable in every way, and the pool area, though not huge, was also very nice. Though Coral Sands is not far from a major road, it is not easy to find in the dark - be sure to have a map with you, and better yet, arrive during daylight. Coral Sands is only a short bike ride (6 to 8 minutes) to the beach. HHI offers a great deal of tennis and golf and shopping - not of interest to us, but we loved the nature preserves and riding our bikes on the beach. The island traffic was crowded, even in late March. Check out Signe Heaven Bound Bakery on Arrow Road, not far from 278. Baked goods are great, and lunches looked good as well.
