First of all we were bumped out of our original hotel the oasis viva because there AC was not working on half the building. They sent us to the oasis palm palm beach which was not an all adult resort but for the inconvinence They were genourous enough to comp us 6 free nights to use within 1 year, so we basically got another vacation for free. Over all the hotel was nice the restaurants were not that good but cancun is such a beautiful place with so much to do that it balanced it's self off the good and the bad.
No place to relax or party.

The hotel is at best a 2 star. The rooms were damp, bed old and hard, toilet stopped up daily. The other guest were screaming all night in the halls. The pool would blast music at 9 am. We thought it would be a quiet place to relax since it was away from the club zone but not the case. The place was dead at night but the drunk kids would run through the hotel all night.
On a positive note the employees were great.
This was my fourth trip to Cancun with the previous 10 years ago. This was by far the worst.
Okay but I wouldn't return

If you have already booked this hotel, it will be fine. You can have a nice vacations. If you haven't booked it yet, I would look for somewhere else. The rooms DO stink. We had two rooms and one was worse than the other. I just hated that the windows didn't open because I like to hear the ocean and it would have been nice to get rid of the smell. The beach and pool area is beautiful! There are lots of bars located all over the place. You never have to walk far for a drink. The entertainment staff was fun and friendly and I was happy with the service I received everywhere. I didn't love the buffets for dinner but they were fine for breakfast and lunch. We tried the Mexican and Asian restaurants that require reservations and they were both good. The sushi at lunch was great! The rooms were not nice. They were clean but they just looked pretty old. The children's area looked very, very nice but there didn't ever seem to be kids there (you can see the area from several monitors in the lobby area).
Don't Stay Here!

My overall experience with this hotel was TERRIBLE! We requested a king size bed, we received 2 full size beds. The room description stated that an iron was standard, we had to request an iron daily because every time they cleaned our room, they would take it. Our room phone only worked to make calls, not receive them. They are VERY stingy with towels; they only place two in each room. When we requested additional towels, we were told, with an attitude, "Fine, but then you won't get new ones when your room is cleaned." The room wasn't even cleaned well because we found a pair of dirty underpants on the floor of our closet! And NO, they didn't belong to us. The employees that we dealt with just seemed to have very bad attitudes; they acted as if they were being bothered when asked a question.
All I can say is that this place was awful. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.

This place was awesome! My husband and I loved every minute of our 6 day stay - the staff is polite, friendly, and hard-workers and never without a smile. The room was okay (lagoon view) - not new, but clean and we spent little time there, no odors. We felt safe at the resort and traveling by local bus in Cancun. Every restaurant was excellent - I called each morning at 7:00 and got reservations for dinner no problem. The pool is large and meanders along so you can be near groups of families and kids or quieter areas. The beach is shallow so we could kneel or crawl around at our leisure just hanging out for hours under perfect blue skies and hot sun. The staff near the pool offering Aqua World tours are exceptional and we loved our Jungle Tour. For romantic getaway, try other Oasis 23 yrs and older, but we loved the sounds of kids playing with families and people speaking many languages. International feel. Activity staff was great- not pushy, but fun and engaging. Try trivia night on Sunday at sports bar. For the low rates, this place is great - all the delicious food you can eat and free drinks of any kind - we got our money's worth and more. Loved the clean lobbies, bathrooms, and hallways. Staff was always cleaning and mopping floors. Don't miss the nachos for an afternoon snack down by beach and ask Charlie at the pool bar for Pina Colada w/ melon liquor - mmmm! Will definately stay here again or try the other Oasis that is for adults only. But perhaps that would be too quiet! There is even a small disco here in the lower level. Mexico dance shows were great. STAY HERE!!!
