good looking building from far away but the attention to details close up is obvious. Good food good selection - no complaints - ok restaurants. Not bad value for the $'s paid.
Beach is OK but nothing to shelter you from the sun - construction of huts now so may be in Aug 2010 will be completed? not the best I stayed at but for 3 days it was enough. I would not do it for 5 days. too boring

The hotel was practically empty when we stayed. Never waited for anything and had our choice of seats by the pool. The clientèle was a bit older. My boyfriend and I are in our mid thirty's and didn't see anyone younger than us, but we didn't have problem with that. Room had a beautiful balcony. We got to watch the sunrise over the ocean every morning. Thought the food selection was great, so many options we didn't even get to try all the restaurants. Was a great trip for not alot of money.
Recommendations:
You can hit the bar as often as you want and they'll happily give you anything you want, but you get it in a 4oz cup. To cut down on trips to the bar bring your own larger plastic cup -thermally insulated if you have it (It's hot down there.) We did and they had no problem cheerfully filling it to the brim.
I strongly recommend the Xel-Ha excursion. $110 = Coolest thing I've ever done in my life. You can Google it to get an idea of what it's about.
Also avoid anyone offering you excursion money in exchange for listening to their sales pitch and anyone offering to let you tour their hotel. "Just Say NO!" firmly and frequently till they leave. You will meet lots of these people upon arrival. They are hotel and airport staff, so you think they're friendly guides offering advice.

The Golden Parnasus is an excellent resort to stay at...it's great for partying and has lots of activities for you to participate in. The staff is super friendly and very personal...once they know what you are drinking, you never have to tell them again, they remember and just keep bringing them! The entertainment staff is so funny and personal as well, if you participate, they make you feel like family, where everyone know everyone! Even the guest are very friendly and eager to become new friends! The food is wonderful...even if you are a picky eater...you can always get a hamburger and fries! Rooms are clean and spacious...but you probably won't spend a lot of time there! Overall atmosphere was great, we look forward to returning here every year for an awesome time!

Staff was great, no kids made for a peaceful trip. The Hotel offered many different activities on the resort and off.

1. The Hotel is outdated
2. Bad Customer Service from employees & management.
3. This Hotel is listed on some websites a 4 Star and its equivalent to a 0 Star.
4. Heating & Air Unit was down our entire stay.
5. The food selection was less than satisfactory.
