Quote: The hotel is situated conveniently downtown, other than that..it has left something to be desired. The cost of parking is not included in the room rate, so be prepared to to pay an additional (* + * tax) for parking a day. Upon our arrival, I requested a non smoking room...I was given smoking. The cleaniless was mediocre, the stench of smoky mildew filled the air... there were water stains on the lamp shades, and dingy curtains, to boot. I was moved to a smoke free room..only to be awaken at 11:30 pm, later that night, by a loud patron, on an outside balcony. This lasted for 2 hours. I called and called the front desk, only to have to get up and go down stairs for assistance. Needless to say....I will not be returning!
Quote: Nice room. $*/day parking -- ouch! It was nice that we were 1/2 block from the Orpheum Theater, as we were in town exclusively to see the play Wicked. Breakfast at the hotel was expensive, but good. There was a mixup in our room number, and the staff was quick to remedy the problem and apologized profusely.
Quote: Liked the hotel it is in a great location, within walking distance from the bart and shopping areas. Would stay here again, did mind the indigents but no problems at all.
Quote: one of the best experiences we have had in the city. the staff were friendly & more than helpfull. the roomswere very clean . They are within 1 blk. of bart They go out of their way to make you feel at home
Quote: The hotel backs up against the tenderloin, a rather notorious part of SF. You have to walk several blocks through a ""seedy"" part of town to get to the Financial District and other upscale locations. So take the train or the bus or the light rail, rather than walk, the stops are RIGHT there outside the hotel and it's not so bad during the day. I would not recommend the site to folks from the midwest who are easily shocked. The hotel was being renovated, so we got good rates. Parking (which we didn't need - is 25 dollars a day). The room could have been soundproofed better but we had a nice view. The room was clean - so clean in fact, we didn't realize we had (accidentally) been given a smoking room and the housekeeping staff did a... Read More

Quote: Nice room, great terrace, great buffet breakfast but don't count on resting or even staying in your hotel room from 9 AM to 5 PM. THe contruction noise will drive you away unless you are deaf
Quote: My partner and I stayed here for three nights to celebrate his birthday. We took BART from SFO to the hotel (30 minutes and $5.35pp, much cheaper than a cab), the civic center stop is a half a block away. The outside of the hotel looked a bit old, but we were completely satisfied with the size and cleanliness of our room (14th floor king bed w/balcony). The location is great, just off of Market, so if you want to walk to Downtown, SOMA, or the Castro, the hills aren't too bad. Market st is a bit sketchy for a few blocks, but we didn't have any problems. Our only complaint was the internet service via the TV. Acess is $9.95 per day, but when we tried to use it we were kicked back to the TV menu. The front desk acknowledged that the internet... Read More
Quote: Room rate was good, but they never mentioned the $27 a day for parking, and a charge to use the business office.
