Quote: great location. disappointed the pool was unavailable for 3 days. told that three off site pools were available to us. they did not inform the owners of said pools, we were humiliated when we were told to leave or pay for the use of the pool. we asked to speak with the LaConcha manager when we returned to the hotel. He failed to return our calls. the first person we met at the front desk was not helpful as well as the manager. the rest of the staff we encountered exceptional people.
Quote: We really liked the Hotel alot. The location on Duval St. was very good. The hotel roof has some amazing views of all of Key West. Our room was small, but excellent, nice comfortable bed. The only problem with the room was the exhaust fan/ system didn't work, when I told the Front Desk, maintenance said the exhaust system hasn't worked since the last renovation. I found this odd to say the least. The only other problem we encountered was the resturant food lacked flavor and the service was slow the 2 times we ate there. Overall ,I will highly recommend the La Concha to anyone thinking of staying there. When we return to Key West we will stay at the La Concha.
Quote: We have traveled to Key West many times and we allways try a different place to stay. La Concha is one of the best places we have stayed in. The staff was helpful and friendly, the room clean, and you can't beat its location on Duval St!! It is close to everything and if you need to rent bikes all you have to do is go out back to the parking lot. The pool is a little small but we never had a problem with swimming or getting a chair. The top is a great place to have a drink and see the sunset. It can be a little noisy, being right on Duval so I suggest staying on top floor. But when you go to Key West you don't stay in your room too much and usually get back late. All in all, I highly recommed the La Concha and if we ever run out of... Read More
Quote: Accommodations were great. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was well decorated, clean and roomy. Beds were wonderful; soft mattress, down comforter and pillows. Very convenient to have dinning on site. Especially liked having Starbucks off the lobby. We would stay there again. Only concern was $20 night parking - not advised when booked through Travelosity.
Quote: We stayed there for two days and totally loved it. I initially thought the rooms would be antiquated especially since the hotel has been around for so long put was pleasantly surprised. The Good: The rooms were nice, clean, tasteful and very modern. The rooms appeared to have been recently renovated w/LCD flat screens in every room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating (got a pool view at no extra charge). Great view of sunset from their rooftop bar - without the crowds of Mallory Square (Open only for a few hours at sunset). Place is historic and is even part of the Conch Train Tour and is a walk to all the Key Attractions including Mallory square and the Waterfront Docks (don't miss the sunset cruise on the... Read More
Quote: We booked a guarenteed non smoking room and didnt get that upon arrival. However they moved us the next day - so I suggest calling a few days prior and making sure they understand your rez. The A/C could've been stronger. The pool is TINY and 3 feet deep - so kinda like no pool to be honest. The pool bar was nice. The sunset bar is just that - open for 2 hours for sunset. Kinda strange having a hotel bar- yet NOT most of the time. Location is great. Jack's restaurant downstairs is ok... lots of better choices near by. The staff is mostly alright- Ive experienced better. Elevator locations and speed were poor. Over all Im trying to point out the bad so ppl know - but I WOULD stay here again. Rooms were clean, comfortable and not noisey -... Read More
Quote: This is a historical hotel, the lobby is very modern and up to date. Too bad I can't say the same for the rest of the hotel. The elevators are extremely small and not very fast. The room had an old musty smell. The bed is very large and comfortable, but the rooms are very, very, very noisy. My wife and I could hear every conversation in the next room and in the halls. The noise from the outside is even worse. It is very difficult to get a good nights sleep. You can also hear the toilets flushing from the other rooms. While your shower is on a strange; noise could be heard from the wall. If you want to be close to Key West's historical district and you don't mind a very noisy stay, then this is your place. I prefer a quiet, modern... Read More
Quote: Could not ask for a better location in Key West, centrally located, everything is within walking distance. Very Clean, Very nice.
Quote: We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in April of 2009. The location is fantastic. It is in the heart of everything. We did not rent a car while we were there, and honestly there was no need to. This hotel is steps away from all of the bars and about a 10 minute walk from Mallory Square (fantastic for watching the sunset). The roof-top pool was nice, but small. Perfect for relaxing, not a great place to stay with kids. My one complaint about this hotel was the noise. Our hotel room overlooked Duval Street, and we could hear all of the street noise (loud, drunk people) all night long. If you stay here, you may want to request a room on the back side of the hotel. With all that said, my husband and I would definitely stay here... Read More
