We had a great experience at the Catamaran

We stayed in this hotel and have nothing but good things to say. We had a room in the tower no complaints there. The grounds are beautiful and its in a wonderful location. Service was prompt and professional. The only negative things I can say are in regards to the parking charges #40a bit pricey#41 and the wait for Sunday brunch #40about 45 minutes but we did not have a reservation#41. As a couple in our late 20s looking for a relaxing vacation this hotel and the pacific beach area worked perfectly. I cant wait to return to San Diego and stay at this hotel again.

We loved the Catamaran! Can't wait to go back!

We loved our stay at the Catamaran! The location is perfect, the grounds are beautiful and everything was clean and well attended. The service was awesome. Our deluxe king garden room was on the second floor very near the lobby, a great central location. The room was good size and clean. Nice flat screen TV, fridge, lg closet and comfy bed. The next day we got a call in the morning that the water heater had broken in our building and we had to be moved. Bummer! They said they would give us an upgrade to a BAY FRONT room. We packed our stuff. The view from the bay front room was awesome. The room was bigger, the bath and sink area was huge (double sinks, yay!), there was an even bigger flat screen TV as well as a couch. We had a room with a second floor balcony maybe 20 feet from the bay board walk and the white sand beach of Mission Bay. I was very impressed with the management for taking such good care of us. But, it gets better. We left for the afternoon and when we returned to our room the management had provided us a wine and cheese tray as well as a card apologizing for any inconvenience! We have never been treated so well. The location of the Catamaran is great. It is located on Mission Bay, which is a much quieter location than on the Pacific side of things. But, if you want to see the Pacific you just walk one block over and you are right there. There are great restaurants, shops and groceries within walking distance. The grounds of the Catamaran were very tropical. The lobby has a huge waterfall. We would not hesitate to recommend the Catamaran!

Beautiful atmosphere

My family and I just returned from a trip to San Diego. We stayed at the Catamaran May 4-9. We have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. It was so clean, very family friendly, and centrally located to Mission Bay and Pacific Beach. We really enjoyed the pool at night. Great Place to stay!!!!

The Catamaran was great. We lived in San Diego years ago, and always liked the Catamaran for brunches and nightlife, but had never stayed there. It was very clean, very quiet and we had a great view of Pacific Beach and to the north. The (2) rooms were nice and the beds comfy. We walked 1/2 block to the beach at night for the sunsets. We were also able to walk to many local restaurants and a grocery store (as well as some great shopping). I wasn't wild about paying for parking, but at the beach, parking is at a premium and the rental car was safe and sound. Definitely worth it. They had a small fitness room, but the pool and jacuzzi were warm and clean. The grounds were amazingly clean, especially considering the ducks and parrots, etc that live on the grounds. All in all, 2 thumbs up.

Hotel in Pacific Beach

I was pleasantly surprised this hotel was located in Pacific Beach about 12-15 minutes outside of the city limits to San Diego. It would be about 10 minutes from Seaworld. I do tend to be a hotel snob, so I can be critical of hotels. There is a very large lobby, small checkin area, and a small concierge area. You must pay for parking at this hotel which was $* per day. The hotel is older. We stayed on the second floor which had a balcony and overlooked the pool and more grassy areas. The room size was larger that average. We had two double beds which were very comfortable. A vanity outside the bathroom which is always nice. It also had a small refrigerator. It was very clean.
Stayed here before? How was it?
