Quote: This was absolutely the best vacation I've had in Cancun. I felt completely spoiled and pampered with the All-Inclusive services.
What more could anyone want - - all the excellent food and drinks you could want, two free tours per person per week, a free manicure, pedicure and massage per person per week. A large jacuzzi in your room with ocean view. The tours and staff were excellent.
The best things to do there besides kicking back and relaxing at the wonderful pools and beach... Xel HA, Isla Mujeres, Xcaret, golfing, scuba and snorkeling.
There are several good ruins tours...I would recommend the night and day trip to Chichenitza, Tulum was by the water and very beautiful, Coba was cool in that you could see several of the ruins that still had not been uncovered.
Meeting people from other states/countries is always a big highlight...we made friends with people from Hungary and plan to take a trip there to see them in the future.
Quick Tips:
I think everyone's first trip to Cancun needs to be at least a two week vacation. There's just too much to do for one week...plus it takes a couple days to adjust to being in Mexico.
It's best to try to plan a day between the all day tours as they can be very exhausting. At the Palace Resorts, look into the tours that are offered before you get there so that you can book your all-inclusive tours, massages, manicures and pedicures as soon as you get there or it may be difficult to book them days later as they fill up fast. We missed getting our tours the 1st week because we hesitated to book the first day of arrival.
Best Way To Get Around:
At the Moon Palace, they have transportation to Cancun shopping plazas and to the other Palace resorts which was excellent! We used the Palace Resorts transportation everyday.
While in Cancun, we also used the public bus system as it is cheap and sufficient for getting around in Cancun...only 6 pesos per ride. The only cab we used this trip was when going back to the airport.
