Fabulous Dining out of this World

While visiting my brother this past summer he took us to dine at this fabulous restaurant. A treat was in store for us!

A guest was playing the piana when we arrived and the atmosphere was warm and cosy.

The food was to die for. I lived in Germany for a year and expected to disappointed. I was floored by the authentic tastes. We were even able to buy two quarts of the salad dressing... with my neice ditching items in her suitcase to a quart back to TX to share with her family.

I can't wait to go back this fall! and again, and again! This restaurant enhances any possibility of visiting WV in the future and is a must "go" on my schedule of sights to see and visit!

Wow!

Great Place to Eat

This very remote Swiss-German village was settled in the 1800's.
If you like Swiss or German food this is one of the very few authentic places to eat for hundreds of miles. I have been to Germany 13 times and stay for at least a month at a time and eat locally so I have a pretty good idea of what real German food should taste like. This is the real thing!! I have been to two other places in the Cannan Valley that claim to have German food but they were both terrible. While you wait for your order you can explore the interesting stuff all over this converted home. It is a real jewel. All the food on the menu is first rate. The Sunday buffett is amazing and it is nothing to see people who have driven two hours just to eat here. It is a must stop if you are on a motorcycle trip.
After eating take a walk and pull up a chair near the beautiful stream and just relax.

i love this restaurant. The food is great and the community is beautiful. After grueling hours in a bustleing city, I love to go "home" to Helvetia. You can truly relax, let go and be yourself here. Can't wait to return.

Housed in a traditional Swiss cottage and packed with interesting artifacts, is an amazing restaurant with a limited assortment of Swiss and German dishes. My favorite dining room has the old community switchboard from the time before modern telephones.

For dessert, have peach cobbler or cherry tarts and a good cup of coffee. Wonderful! And the service is good too. But get there early; they only serve until 7 pm most of the year.
