Go for the Wine, Stay for the ShowIn Charlie Palmer’s Aureole, wine is the center of the action, thanks to the massive glass “tower of wine” containing 10,000 bottles located smack in the center of the restaurant. In an ode to Mission: Impossible, the gorgeous black-clad wine stewardesses for Aureole (or “wine angels,” as they’re called) are suspended by harnesses that allow them to shoot to the top of the 42-foot tower in about 10 seconds. Ordering a bottle has never been such an experience. www.aureolelv.com

Aureole in Vegas was perhaps one of my most enjoyable dining experiences ever. As you descend the four stories of stairs - and, on the way down, discover the magic that is the restaurant's eclectic and vast wine "cellar," visible for all to see - you get the feeling you are onto something unique. We had dinner at the bar, where there were only three other diners, and the staff I will rave about the food momentarily. First, though, wine lovers (or even likers) will be amazed by the electronic wine list. The PDA-like device allows you to sort your options by country, grape, price, vintage, and I’m sure anything else you might need to sort by. In addition to providing many entertaining moments, the technology also allows the diner to narrow...

To experience this place, with their expansive wine list and flying wine gatherings (Angles), I would highly recommend a seat at the bar if you are adventurous at all. This eliminates the need for reservations; you can just walk in and grab an open seat (I recommend doing this soon after they open, as it does get a little crowded). This also gives you the best view of the wine tower and the servers. The food here is overrated, but for any wino, it is a must-see, and if you get your hands on their wireless wine menu, be sure not to set it down until you are totally done, as they will grab it right away for use of others (they only have a few).

Aureole was a delightfully surprising upscale dining experience. The modern art deco design is complemented by the enormous vertical glass wine cellar. Supposedly, it is the most expensive wine list in the US, and it gave me a kick to see the guys bungy down this monsterous multi-story display to get your selected wine. The three course menu is all in one price and allows you to mix and match your favorites. It's Russian fusion and the wide array of choices concentrate on unique seafood and steak creations.
Service is top notch, but a little stuffy for my tastes (I hate it when an upscale restaurant tries to act the part with a bunch of stuffy servers and...you get the idea). There is a swan pool and waterfall in the backdrop. ...

Fine service and beautiful setting. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the broccoli rabe was VERY salty. Desserts were phenomenal....don't miss the chocolate peanut butter thing!

Fantastic food, a great a wine list, interesting interior design makes this restaurant one of my top favorite restaurant in Vegas. Flying "wine angles" fetch wine bottles from a 3 story glass enclosed wine tower. It's rahter impressive.
