Quote: So, this is pretty much simply an entry to "de-mystify" the glamour that is Sunset Strip. I took this picture while driving along the glitz of it all. I thought it ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous.

The Sunset Strip
Quote: Anything goes after dark on Sunset. Sunset Boulevard has been a haven for the music scene since the 1960s. Jim Morrison and the Doors, Van Halen, and Motley Crue played at The Rainbow. The Viper Room is owned by Johnny Depp. The Whiskey A Go Go hosted acts like Led Zeppelin and Janis Joplin. The Roxy made its mark with bands like Guns and Roses and Poison.Sunset Boulevard has so much history to it, the entire block should be preserved for generations to come. People-watching has always been great here. Stop into the Rainbow for a bite to eat (the lasagna is amazingly awesome), or rub elbows with rock stars from the past or future rockers at The Key Club. All the clubs are open 7 days a week. Some charge a cover, some don't. ... Read More

Quote: Sunset Boulevard is lined with bars and clubs; the decision is where to go. I went on a bar crawl organised by the hostel to get a bit of a taste of the Strip. (If you're a girl and want a go you certainly get your money's worth as the (male) staff turn the machine way down low. Strange ....) Its a pretty big place and had no sense of atmosphere. I was looking forward to the Red Rock, allegedly a rock club. I didn't notice it being particularly red and, sadly, it played no rock music. The dance floor is upstairs and played mostly R n B. I have to reccommend the big comfy sofas though. We went to Miyagis next, a... Read More

Sunset Strip
Quote: The Sunset Boulevard is a street for as long as the sun shines, but after sunset, it takes on the persona of the infamous Sunset Strip. On the Strip, as it is called locally, you find endless chic and very cool bars and night clubs. When the sun goes down, this area comes alive, especially after 10pm. Do not miss The Viper owned by Johnny Depp and frequented by countless stars. Also equally infamous is the House of Blues that offers an excellent Sunday Brunch twice every Sunday. It boasts of authentic architecture and interior design that is a feast for the eyes. Bribe, rob and steal... do anything to get through those doors! The best Chinese restaurant in town is also here on the Strip, near the corner of 7000, Sunset Boulevard.... Read More
