Costa Maya – Back from Ruins
In this journal, MikeInTown and his wife sail on Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas to Mexico, where they go from ship to snakes on a tour of the Chacchoben ruins. “I'm no herpetologist,” Mike says, “but I think the snake was a boa constrictor.” Yikes. A friendlier companion was the couple’s guide, “an excellent narrator” with a sense of humor who “referred to his commentary as ‘the blah blah blah.’”
Small Ports in the Caribbean
Experienced cruiser Cantin2 once again chose Azamara Cruises, boarding the Journey for Eastern Caribbean stops like Virgin Gorda, St. John, and St. Martin. The small ship is a great choice for anyone interested in “small ports that larger ships may not be capable of visiting.” Her specific recommendations—especially for beaches and drinks—are amazingly tempting.
First Carnival Cruise 2009
On the other end of the spectrum, first-time cruiser pbpd81 writes about her trip on Carnival’s Destiny to Grand Cayman and Jamaica. She shares her picks and pans of shore excursions and explains why this ship was “a great choice for our first cruise.”
I Want to Go Back Again…and Again…and Again…
The journal title says it all, but the reviews back it up: Koala_D thoroughly enjoyed her 7-day Western Caribbean cruise aboard Norwegian’s Pearl—especially a Gumbalimba Park excursion in Honduras involving “friendly” birds and “active” monkeys. Her photos reveal just how friendly and active they are.
