After well over 100 travel journals, we thought we knew IgoUgo Hall of Famer Wildcat Dianne. But who knew she was a history major in college? The traveling historian used two recent trips to Atlanta to explore three of America’s most important sites.
In her heated July journal, she pays a visit to the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum. The traveler calls the building the best Holocaust museum in the nation outside of Washington, D.C., and writes a detailed two-part review that does its exhibits justice.
More recently, Wildcat Dianne’s January return to Atlanta produced two more Best of IgoUgo journals, one zeroing in on the King Center and one on the Carter Center. She calls her tour of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. historic sites “a dream come true,” and it’s a dream she shares in four very powerful reviews (plus one helpful review of a great place to grab food nearby). Her collection of 54 photos is powerful, too, and we share the same favorite as Ms. Dianne: her shot of the BEHOLD Monument honoring Dr. King.
Having grown up during the Carter administration, Wildcat Dianne is equally moved by Jimmy Carter’s library and museum. And in her entertaining Carter Center journal, she’s also nearly moved to tears at the sight of a Dunkin’ Donuts. That’s what happens after two years of, as she puts it, “Dunkin’ Donuts deprivation.”
So after many more than 100 journals, we now know at least two things about Wildcat Dianne: she was a history major, and her collection of both serious and humorous reviews only gets better.
