The drama...the intrigue...the sheer emotion...yes, we’re talking about holiday travel. This year’s Thanksgiving frenzy didn’t disappoint, with inclement weather, maintenance delays, and more out-of-the-box travel obstacles. At DFW, Murphy’s Law swung into full effect as radio towers lost all communication, and snow- and fog-filled weather patterns rushed gleefully onto the radar. But despite the skepticism, it looked like Bush’s plan to relieve air congestion actually, well, worked. Delays were minimal, lines were short, and airports hummed along happily, with hardly any congestion in sight. Has the drama dissipated for good? We’re not counting on it—but our fingers are crossed for the second wave of holiday travel in late December.
