Nice Place to Stay : )

My two girfriends and I had a great time!! The entertainment at the facility does NOT go until 4 a.m. It started at 9:30 at night and ended between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m.!! The food was good and all the staff was pleasant and helpful to us when we needed anything or had any questions. The cottage we stayed in was nice and clean...a little rough around the edges in a sense when compared to a huge super expensive hotel/resort, but we loved it!!! More of a rustic type atmosphere, but we stayed cool and dry when we where in our cottage, most of our time was spent outside tho!!! They work hard to upkeep the grounds! This was our first time at an all inclusive place...it was great and we were spoiled. The food was good, and there are three restaurants to choose from (although the 2 ala carte ones alternate nightly) but it is easy to eat at all three when there for a week. There is a "snack" bar that is open between lunch/dinner and later after dinner if you miss lunch or dinner or are just hungry again. One person in my group was a vegetarian who ate no meat, she did fine finding foods to eat and never complained of being hungry. In fact when we ate at the Asian restaurant and there were no meatless dishes, the cooks made her a very nice vegetarian dish that was quite good. The entertainment was entertaining and we enjoyed it. All three of us are ready to come back and are sorry we had to leave. It was relaxing, enjoyable, and the best vacation any of us had!!! Take the trip to the Dunn's River Falls, it is great fun!!!!

the food was GREAT! Lots of local food...no hamburgers and french fries. The fruit was wonderful. the front desk was NOT helpful. Not friendly. Not accommodating. Just very matter-of-fact, that's that. the A/C worked GREAT! The maids had 137 rooms to clean, we were in 136 and 137 so we were last. Who cares? We were swimming, eating, drinking, swimming, eating, etc. There was lots of trouble in the TV/internet room. The kids got into fights with the other kids, threw tantrums with the hired help, cussed like sailors, smashed a little girl's finger in the door, spit at each other, and blew milkshakes threw their straws all over the place. Other than the out of control kids, staff and guests included, everything was great. Luckily we were leaving the next day. We had no kids with us, thank goodness.

Great Beauty but lacked culture

This was a great all inclusive resort. The ocean, beach, bars, and location rock. The bands were great along with the music, but don't expect any authentic Jamaican culture beyond the cool bartenders. The buffet was yummy, but not what we expected in terms of local food.

I don't know how anyone could possibly give this hotel a review above a two. If you want luxury this is not the place to stay. The room we stayed in had hair stuck to the bathroom and shower walls. The toilet looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in two years. The 19"" TV in the room was outdated and too small for the room and some channels didn't come in most of the time. The lighting was poor and there was no clock in the room. The furniture is visiably old, the rooms just needs to be renovated. Everyday that we were there the cleaning lady failed to bring either hand towels, wash cloths, or a floor towel and when we called housekeeping on one occasion no one ever showed up. The only good things were the staff was very friendly and the cottages are far enough apart that you can't hear your neighbors; however, you could hear the entertainment that lasts unitl 4 am every morning. Stay at the Grand Bahia or one of the Riu hotels, they are newer and everyone I spoke to who stayed at either hotel was very happy.
Stayed here before? How was it?
