The rooms are not clean, the entire facility is worn. There is no restaurant, nor is there a lounge. I left a ""do not disturb"" sign on the door only to return to find housekeeping (if you can call them that) going through my things. The manager had no concern when I contacted him.They are located on the furthest edge of what could be called the french quarter in a questionable area. I was advised by the desk staff not to walk outside at night. Oh, and my linens had not been changed from the previous guests...trust me it was obvious.

I chose this hotel based on the video and photos of a "standard double" room. The description of the room included the word "spacious" (ha). The photo on the website is one of a very nice room with comfortable sitting chairs, armoire, table, desk, nice sized bath. Don't believe it. The room I had was much smaller than the one pictured with a tiny bathroom, one chair (roll-around desk chair), no armoire. The room was clean but definitely "well worn" and definitely undersized for a family stay of more than one night. Comparable to a typical "hole in the wall" room at a budget hotel. The photos on the website are definitely intended to mislead. When I inquired about the difference in the rooms I was told that "a room such as that pictured on the website may be available for a higher price". However, on the website it is shown as a standard double which is what I reserved. During our stay both the restaurant and lounge were not in operation. Of course that was not disclosed when I was making my reservation and I was charged full price. The positives are that the room seemed to be clean and the staff was nice if not receptive to my complaint about the false advertising. This facility is 3 blocks off the far end of Bourbon St from the Sugar Bowl and downtown.

The Best Western has its own parking lot, very convenient to the rooms. Like all New Orleans hotels, it also has its own pool.

When I stayed there in 1999, we were very satisfied with the quality of the rooms. The AC is functional and the rooms are very clean.

Feel the atmosphere of the French Quarter when you step inside The Landmark. Located right across the street from Louis Armstrong Park, it is within walking distance of all the historic, artistic, and eclectic charms that surround you.

The Landmark offers more than just a great location. The hotel, with its intimate, European feeling reflects a traditional New Orleans style. Originally called the Vieux Carre Lodge and built on a historic site, the hotel contains 100 recently renovated and spacious rooms, two jacuzzi suites, and hallways that are named after French Quarter streets. The staff is great and eager to please. Breakfast is also served there for a nominal fee, but it is delicious. A full sevice bar is on the premises.

The Landmark also offers shuttle service, so you can leave your car parked in their garage and save on city parking fees. The hotel charges a parking fee during your visit.
