I stayed at the west-in hotel near the lax. It was the worst experence I ever had. The parking was $18.00 a day . I did not know this about the parking before hand. Someone broke into my rental car and stole my gps. I can't understand how that happen ....When the hotel charge $18..00 a day for parking. I got stuck in the elevator. And they charge me for the snack tray in the room automatically (4xs). I would advise you all to take this hotel off of your list.

The hotel has the feel of being run down. The carpeting and walls look worn. The elevators were extremely slow. The staff explained this was because they were replacing the elevators. It was not unusual to wait over 5 minutes for an elevator. Be sure to check your bill carefully. There are trays with food items on the bureau. If you move an item or accidentally knock one over, you will be charged for it. Also, I forgot my headphones and they didn't have any that you can use in the fitness center. They charge $11.95 for internet access - this is a pet peeve of mine. The only thing that I can say is that the food at the conference I attended was good.

We booked this hotel as a central spot to sightsee for 4 days in LA. It was easy access to freeways and hotel was very nice. Front desk was extrememly helpful and polite. The cocktail bar was a great place to hang out after a long day of driving. A tip: the front desk has menus for the local pizza and pasta places that deliver; a nice alternative to the hotel restaurant if you are not in the mood for fancy fare.
Although not a newer Westin property, it was well maintained and our room was very nice. We would definately return.

The hotel was shielded well from external noise. However the noise in the hallways and neighboring rooms was enough to wake a body several times. The welcoming smell of musty carpets lend itself to the towels and the bed. The price of the snacks and one bottle of water in the room were outrageous. Best to pack in something to drink and to eat as walking about after sunset is probably not adviseable. When you wake the next day ready for that quick continental breakfast....forget it...it's not there. You'll have to grab some grub their pricey restraurant or wait until you get to the airport. Too bad....the initial information on the web along with the images made this seem like it would be better accomodations than they were.

This hotel was really quite wonderful. As soon as I walked in, the staff was helpful and attentive. The room was spacious and clean. I was not expecting such a nice experience after reading other reviews about this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised.
The only downside is if your going to dine inside the hotel be aware its a little expensive, however, the quality was very good.
