Cancun is forever updating and changing. The water, which teases you with its crystal blue waters, is always beautiful and the atmosphere is always what I think of Little USA. There are so many American restaurants, but you can still find the Mexican feel!

I hadn't visited Cancun in over six years and my how it's changed but also stayed the same. The biggest change is the airport. Before it was scary, but now it's all tiled, air-conditioned, and beautiful! The Gulf of Mexico is still crystal clear blue water and beautiful! Resorts are still being built left and right and new restaurants are still popping up everywhere.
Quick Tips:
If you have never traveled outside of the country before, I still recommend going to Cancun. You know you are out of the country, but it's still has so much Americanization so you basically know what you are getting into!

Best Way To Get Around:
From the airport, you can get transfers to the resort. From the resort, you can get around very easily by bus. Cancun has a great public bus system. One ride costs 6 pesos, which is very inexpensive -- make sure to have lots of singles on hand!

Also, taking taxis is easy. Make sure to negotiate the price before getting in. This will ensure that you are not getting taken for a ride.

Royal Sunset

Hotel

We were confirmed into a studio unit. The unit itself was spacious with a kitchen area, living area, bedroom area, great size bathroom, and a small balcony overlooking the pool area. The floors were tiled, which you find everywhere in Mexico because of the humidity. The unit worked for us -- the couch even folded out to a sleeper sofa! To work the air conditioner, you had to keep the balcony door closed; with it open, the air would turn off.

The resort was in a great location, located right on the beach, within easy walking distance to the bars, restaurants, and shopping! Check-in was a breeze!! We were met by the concierges and were provided with beverages to quench our thirst. By the time we got to our room, our luggage was there! The buffet restaurant worked for us -- there were many choices to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's not over the top, but filling! The bar at the pool was great! You knew exactly how much alcohol was put into your drinks. There were activities every day at the pool and around the pool. There were nightly shows and special dinners and even outings to the locals clubs!

This resort isn't the largest in Cancun, but I would recommend it as one of the friendliest in Cancun. The staff always went out of their way to say "hola" and make you feel welcome!

Daddy Rocks

Activity

Daddy Rocks and Daddy O's are located right next to each other. They are both great places to hang out and have fun. The cover charge depends on the evening you go. On Friday night, it was $25 per person and all you can drink; Sunday night was ladies night and ladies got in for $10 and all you can drink while gentleman paid $25.

If you want to get your groove on, then it's a good deal. You can also just pay a cover charge and not drink -- it's always your choice! Daddy Rocks put on live shows and it's worth checking out! They have glow-in-the-dark necklaces, entertainment, and a live band!
