Trip to Savannah

If you can, be sure to take the time to go to Savannah. It's only a 45 or 60-minute drive or you can take a boat from Harbourtown or book a tour. It is worth it! We went on a 90-minute historic tour which gives you an opportunity to see more of the city and get a real feel for it. Savannah is lovely with the most tree-lined squares I've ever seen in one place. And River Street is fun, with the riverboats and great shops. Don't miss River Street Sweets if you like pralines!

This was my second trip into Savannah; somehow, we didn't figure out the happy hour thing or that you could take your beer on the streets until this trip. Cobblestone streets and old waterfront buildings converted to shops, restaurants, and pubs decorate River Street. On top of that, walk around some amazing homes and marvel at the design of the old city. The streets were often designed to incorporate parks, with live oaks and Spanish moss, just like in the movies.
