Gallagher's Steakhouse

From the moment that you see Gallagher’s in the New York, New York Hotel you know it’s all about the beef. Outside of the restaurant they have mouth watering pieces of meat enticing people to come and eat them. The meat is actually behind a glass window and there is a sign that boasts that they use only USDA prime, dry-aged beef.

We were definitely enticed and we made reservations one night and tried Gallagher’s. The meat was undeniably as good as it looked. Our server had such an enthusiasm for the food that this restaurant served and she was very informative on how everything was made in the kitchen, which made our dining experience more enjoyable. I decided on the Prime Rib, and my boyfriend got the porterhouse--both were fabulous.

By the time we left the restaurant we were stuffed. We had shared a salad and an appetizer and we had an entrée each. There definitely was no more room for dessert because we had to walk back to our hotel, The Bellagio. Other than the obnoxiously loud man that sat behind us, this would have been a perfect dinner.

We stopped in before we drove home. We were wearing tank tops and shorts, and they did serve us... but we got strange looks the whole time. It is an upscale steakhouse that serves everything separately. Best comparison is to Ruth Chris Steakhouse. It is so worth the money. The ambiance, service, and food are excellent. Truly a nice change from the Vegas buffet lines. We both had the $34 steak and added crab cakes with a glass of wine. $85 later, we left full and happy. Great dining!!

Gallager's Steakhouse

The display of aging steaks out in the front glass window is what really helped me decide what steakhouse to eat at here. I'm all about visuals, what can I say. I have eaten in better steakhouses, but it's not to be said that I won't eat here again. The service went beyond my expectations. The atmosphere was I would want from a traditional steakhouse, with old aged wood furnishings and all. The place was of a good size, so no matter how many people are crammed in there, it didn't seem overcrowded. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were as tender and juicy as they appeared. Make sure to call for reservations.

Gallagher''s Steakhouse

Gallagher''s is based on its original New York counterpart and offers their signature dry-aged and USDA prime beef. My friend and I shared the "King Cut" of the Prime Rib and it was ENORMOUS! We started cracking up because my friend is a petite girl and the waiter sets this monstrosity (and I say that in a good way) of prime rib in front of her, and it was practically bigger than her! The guys had the signature dry-aged New York sirloin ($30). They both really liked it. Top quality meat and worth the price paid for it. The server was very experienced and attended to our every need. I started off with a bowl of their split pea soup. Tasty, but nothing to write home about. Sides are extra, so we got several and split it among us. Averaged sized, three or four is plenty to serve a table of four. I think we got the mashed potatoes, sauteed green beans, and spinach. Definitely a place I would go to again to have an elegant sit down meal. Make your reservations early. We called in the late morning and the first opening was around 9pm.
