My wife and I have visited Las Vegas more than once. The idea I had the first time we visited was to find entertainment and eating at bargain rates. After researching the Internet for information, I was able to find many opportunities at a minimal cost. The first thing I found was that most all the casinos offer free giveaway items or discounts just for signing up for their player's card. Both of us were able to get these things when we signed up individually for our club card. They don’t openly tell people about the free items available, but when asked, they willingly give you what they have. At times, we got a coupon book with more than one item given for free or discounts. At other times, we got items such as decks of cards, coffee mugs, hats, free photo key chains, cosmetic samples, pencils, free coffee, dice, and other items of this nature. Some coupon booklets, like the one we got from the Venetian, offered four free items, plus discounts on other things. When signing up, we just asked if they had any free coupon books or items for joining. If you are interested, this is the way to get free souvenirs of your trip.

Vegas is one the most amazing places that I have ever been. You always have something to do 24/7, especially on those sweet Fridays when we all clean and wax our cars to go to the Strip, from old town to all those amazing, new, top-of-the-line casinos and hotels. You can start on Freemont Street, where they have the light show where the ceiling is full of lights, and where you can dance and sing, passing then to the Stratosphere, where you can have a view of the whole town, and take the free-fall ride at 15,000 feet. The Sahara is next, where you can watch car racing, and where you will probably see celebrities. Next, you can go to the circus, where your kids can have fun and take home a lot of prizes, plus the delicious and cheap buffets, give to your night a touch of relaxing luxury. When you go to the Bellagio, there will be a water show where the water dances to the music. Then you can always go to at the newly remodeled Aladdin. You can finish off at a club named Babys; inside there is hard rock. Please take note that kids, teens, and adults can all have fun in Vegas.

The whole theme of this hotel and casino is Paris itself. You feel like you are walking right on the Champs Elysees under the Eiffel Tower, which is a feature of the hotel and casino from the inside and outside of the building.

Casinos in general

All of the casinos in Las Vegas are smoky, so I would recommend bringing a small spray bottle of fabric refresher. Many of the casinos had poker tables (i.e. 7 card stud, Texas Holdem, etc.), but the rooms were small. Some of the casinos did not rate table games on your player’s club card. Some casinos had partnered with others for one club card to make it easier to earn points and comps.
Tropicana had some good promotions running at the time, but they were severely understaffed. It was also easy enough to earn comps -- we're not heavy gamblers, but we managed to already have $2 in food comps and earn 2 t-shirts by playing slots for just an hour. We also won magic show tickets by participating in the "free pull" outside as well as a deck of cards.
In general, cocktail waitresses were few and far between and most of the time did not make it back with your drink by the time you were ready to leave your spot.
