The language of perspective comes naturally to good photographers, we think. The adept create their grammar out of distance, focus and light, and their photos represent that grammar applied to their subjects. We don’t spend a lot of time at IgoUgo parsing our photos, but every once in a while, it’s fitting to make use of terminology to explain our favorites. This week is one of those times. Our Photos of the Week are blessed with a novel perspective.
Captain oddsocks found a lot to gush over in the old Czech city of Olomouc. After coming across the Column of the Holy Trinity, he made a decision to snap it with his camera on the ground. The picture that came out shows the column towering over the city. From where we sit, captain, that column looks holy indeed.

Elsewhere in Olomouc, the captain paid a visit to the stately Church of St. Moritz. To give us a sense of how large its arches were, he pointed his camera directly above the windows. We’re guessing a monk would be happy with the photo he sent us.
