Ask IgoUgo members 456kat and MALUSE what they know about Europe, and they’ll tell you that cathedrals and castles are about as common over there as falafel carts in New York City. With that in mind, what’s the protocol for photographs? Take a picture of every old building you see, or wait until you find a sight worth documenting for all your friends? These travelers answered the question with shots we’d happily stick in a slideshow.
In Germany, MALUSE took a photo of the towering cathedral in the old city of Worms. She positioned the camera in the exit of a nearby archway, which lent her shot an air of imminent discovery. To top it off, she framed the cathedral in the center, reminding the viewer of an image in a stained-glass window.
As part of her trip to England, 456kat paid a visit to Castle Rising in Norfolk, England. Though the weather was anything but majestic, the sight of a massive battlement, coupled with the pathway leading out of the frame, definitely was. Note the contrast between the off-white sky and the gray of the weathered stone.
