IgoUgo’s resident historian, Drever, recently found some spots of quiet contemplation at the world’s busiest harbor (yes, we learned that last fact from him). Then he shook things up and tried one of the port’s most famous exports, the Singapore Sling (those, we knew about).
Despite describing a rather short hop, his journal A Two Day Stopover in Singapore is full of fascinating places to see, including the Buddha Tooth Temple and the Chinatown Heritage Centre. Drever includes a detailed overview of other Singapore tourist attractions he and his wife visited, plus a review of the bumboat river cruise the efficient couple took when they still had time to spare. We hope they reserved at least a little time to enjoy their stay at the “all that we could wish for” Scarlet Hotel, “a boutique hotel quirky, but with class.”
Since Drever says that “no trip to Singapore would be complete without a visit to the world-famous Raffles Hotel for a ‘Singapore Sling’ in the Long Bar,” we’ll end this post with a toast to the venerable traveler who left no attraction unturned, no cocktail untested.
