In the age of instant convenience and short attention spans, online booking vendors like Travelocity are upping the ante: Travelocity’s ExperienceFinder helps you plan and customize vacations, whether you’re craving romance or adventure.
Though still in the beta testing phase, ExperienceFinder is already gathering media buzz. Las Vegas and Hawaii versions debuted with the tool’s unveiling, giving travelers a choice of vacation themes to choose from in each destination. Urban themes dominate the Vegas selection, from “Indulgence” to “Entertainment,” but for Hawaii, themes take a laid-back island turn with “Beach,” “Family,” and more.
After choosing a theme, travelers can browse the listed activities and hotels and add their favorites to a Wishlist, creating the perfect dream vacation. Some features, like maps and community discussions, aren’t active yet, and you’ll be guided back to Travelocity.com for individual (instead of combined) purchasing for now, but the site is all set for planning fun, courtesy of Wishlist technology—and, of course, the bright folks at Travelocity.
