The Blue Moose is a great spot for groups or families. Located next to the ice skating rink in Lionshead Village, it's at the base of the mountain. If you come here at noon, grab an Irish coffee at the bar because you'll probably have to wait for a table.
What is the atmosphere like? This is a casual but nice place. The walls are a sky blue that matches the sky over the mountains. Framed paintings by children give the place a cheery feel. A giant blue moose statue with antlers ablaze with Christmas lights was in the middle of one room. Red and white checked table cloths are covered in butcher paper so kids may color while they wait for their food.
What was the food like?Yummy. Wanting to be adventurous, I ordered a slice of "summer" pizza ($3.50), which was covered with feta cheese, artichoke hearts, and other such delicious whatnot. My husband and son got a large meat-lover's pizza for the table. Both were very good. If you'd prefer, there are other Italian options like lasagna on the menu. Little guys can have their own meal for $6.
Service?Fast, polite, and efficient.
Reservations? They don't take them, but we thought the food was worth the wait. It's good without being ridiculously expensive. There is also a full-service bar if you'd like to grab a drink. I'd definitely eat here again. You can also do take-out if you want to have pizza in your hotel room.
